Privacy Notice
Last updated 18 July 2026
This notice explains how the New Muslims Community Conference (NMCC) collects, uses, and protects your personal data.
NMCC is organised by AL KHAADEM FOUNDATION (202001009346 (1365666-K)), Lot 1034, Jalan Cempaka, Sungai Kayu Ara, 47400 Petaling Jaya, Selangor. Al Khaadem Foundation is the data user under Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA).
What we collect
When you register for a ticket, we collect:
- Your full name, email address, and phone number — we use WhatsApp to reach you about your ticket
- Your gender, which we use for seating and facilities planning
- Whether you are a new Muslim
- Your meal preference (vegetarian or not)
- The event and ticket type you chose, and any invite code you used
- A payment reference from our payment gateway, and the date your payment was confirmed
- The date you checked in at the door, when your ticket QR is scanned
Sensitive personal data
Whether you are a new Muslim is information about your religious beliefs. Under section 40 of the PDPA that is sensitive personal data, and we may only process it with your explicit consent.
That is why the registration and invitation forms ask you to tick a consent box, and why we record when you ticked it. We ask the question because the conference exists for new Muslims: the answer shapes the programme and determines who attends free. You may withdraw your consent at any time — see Your rights, below.
Why we use it
We use your personal data only to:
- Issue your ticket and let you into the event
- Contact you about your ticket and the event, by WhatsApp or email
- Plan the event — catering, seating, and the programme
- Answer an invitation request you sent us
- Keep our own records of who attended
Payments
Payments are handled by Billplz, our payment gateway. Your card or banking credentials are entered on Billplz's own payment page and are never sent to, seen by, or stored by us. We keep only the payment reference Billplz gives us and whether the payment succeeded.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for anyone else's own marketing. We do share it with the service providers who run this event and this website, and who help us measure our own advertising:
- Billplz — to take your payment
- Our website hosting and database providers — to store your registration
- Google Analytics — website usage statistics only (see Cookies, below)
- Meta (Facebook) — to measure how our own Facebook and Instagram ads perform (see Cookies, below)
- Our own organising team and door staff — to run the event
Where it is stored
Our website and database are run by cloud providers whose servers may sit outside Malaysia. We only use providers who offer a comparable standard of protection to the PDPA, and we require them to process your data only on our instructions.
How long we keep it
We keep your registration for as long as we need it to run the event, honour your ticket, and keep our records — including for any follow-up conference in the series. If you ask us to delete your data and we have no legal reason to keep it, we will.
Cookies and analytics
This site uses two kinds of measurement cookies. Google Analytics helps us understand how people find and use the site: it records a random identifier — not your name — and how you move through the pages. The Meta (Facebook) Pixel helps us measure how our own Facebook and Instagram ads perform — for example, how many people who registered arrived from one of our ads — and may share limited event data, such as that a ticket was purchased and its value, with Meta Platforms. We never share whether you are a new Muslim, or any other sensitive information, with Meta or Google, and we do not sell any of this.
You can turn both off with the Reject button on the cookie notice at the bottom of the page. Doing so disables Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel and deletes the cookies they have already set.
We also set a small number of cookies that the site cannot work without: one that keeps you signed in, and ones our organising team uses for the admin tools. These are not used to track you.
Your rights
Under the PDPA you have the right to:
- Ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Ask us to correct it if it is wrong or out of date
- Withdraw your consent, including your consent to us processing your religious status
- Ask us to stop using your data for a particular purpose
- Limit how we process your data
How to contact us
To exercise any of the rights above, or to ask anything about this notice, email conference@newmuslims.co.
Al Khaadem Foundation Lot 1034, Jalan Cempaka, Sungai Kayu Ara 47400 Petaling Jaya, Selangor +603 7724 1590
If you withdraw your consent to us processing your religious status, we may no longer be able to issue you a free new-Muslim ticket, because that ticket depends on the answer.
Changes to this notice
If we change how we use your personal data, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Please check back before each event.
